This prototype includes a smart floor to detect movement (including falls), ultraviolet lighting to kill germs and a bed-side table with built in iPad to connect the patient to the outside world.

Our Interstate 275 team this month successfully accomplished their biggest milestone and largest traffic shift, moving southbound traffic to three newly constructed lanes stretching for the four-mile project length. This $215.4 million design-build project sets the stage for a public-private partnership managed lanes undertaking that the client estimates will cost $3.5 billion.

Biotech giant Genentech names Skanska Supplier of the Year for Portland-area site

Biotechnology company Genentech has named Skanska its 2014 Outstanding Supplier of the Year – across all categories – at its Hillsboro Technical Operations site near Portland, Ore., where the company mixes, packages and distributes medicines. We were selected for our team’s outstanding performance in delivering value to this site; being aligned to the site’s goals and strategies; and being committed to a collaborative process.

Improved OneSkanska intranet coming tomorrow

Tomorrow, Skanska AB will launch an upgraded version of OneSkanska, our global intranet. This is the first phase of an ongoing, long-term effort to align the site’s features and functionalities with the coming needs of the 2020 business plan, and to support our renewed commitment to working together across U.S. business units as Skanska Strong. In this first phase, the new OneSkanska site’s home page will serve as the primary source for all Skanska news – globally, nationally and locally.
