A Skanska joint venture has signed a $65 million contract to demolish two schools and construct three schools that total about 323,000 square feet. We have a $46 million share of the JV.

Pullen takes over from MacAdam Glinn, who is transitioning into his new role as South Florida account manager. Waste Management recognized Skanska USA as one of 10 construction companies that diverted the highest tonnage of waste for recycling in 2014. Last year, USA Building nationally diverted 85 percent of its waste from landfills while USA Civil diverted 98.2 percent.

Robin Colvin, a 45-year-old subcontract worker who was injured last December at our University of North Carolina at Greensboro student center project, died June 21 as a result of his injuries. He had been in a coma since the accident.

Paul Haining is stepping up to be Skanska USA’s new chief EHS officer – which includes overseeing EHS programs across USA Building and USA Civil – as his predecessor Hendrik van Brenk retires after more than eight years of tremendous effort building our Injury-Free Environment culture. Taking over for Haining as Civil’s vice president of EHS is Clark Peterson, who will continue to be Civil’s West Region EHS director.

USA Building has promoted Nick Culver to Metro New York preconstruction director. A 14-year Skanska employee, he has been the preconstruction lead or the lead architectural estimator on more than $1 billion of awarded projects over the last three-and-a-half years.
