Skanska spearheading industry group to accelerate the paperless jobsite movement

Skanska is leading a new group of major U.S. contractors that are working to develop standards to help the building industry more efficiently communicate and collaborate with PDF documents. Called the All PDFs Created Equal Campaign, the group aims to draft PDF creation guidelines for the industry, which it then plans to have peer reviewed by a coalition of architects. Then, it will reach out to owners and various industry groups – such as USGBC and AIA – to seek to them adopt the final PDF guidelines.

This effort is supported by Bluebeam Software, makers of the popular Revu software. Other group members include Balfour Beatty, McCarthy, Mortenson and Turner.

Kyle Hughes, the USA Building senior project engineer who is leading this effort, recently wrote an op-ed piece in ENR about this undertaking; click here to read the article.
