In Boston, sharing knowledge among business units

Skanska Young Professionals touring Boston’s Longfellow Bridge rehabilitation project.

On a recent Saturday, Boston’s Skanska Young Professionals Group toured projects representing three business units to transfer knowledge and create awareness among different parts of our business – and what’s more fun than looking at construction projects!

They toured the Novartis Cambridge Campus Expansion project (USA Building), and Longfellow Bridge rehabilitation (USA Civil) and the 101 Seaport and Watermark Seaport developments (USA Commercial Development and USB). The tours were led by SYP members assigned to each of those projects. The group was able to understand the similarities and differences between building and civil construction projects.

“It was great to see the future leadership of the business units share best practices, learn from each other’s’ projects and simply gel so well as a group,” said Michael Loring, assistant project manager. “The whole day was extremely successful.”
