$137 million in New York City contracts

Skanska has signed an $80 million contract with New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority to renew three subway stations in Brooklyn. Also, we booked an additional order worth $57 million from the New York City Economic Development Corporation for our ongoing project that’s rebuilding the Rockaway Beach boardwalk in Queens.

The subway work is on the Sea Beach Line. It includes platform and canopy replacement, refurbishment of control houses, electrical and communication upgrades, and structural repairs along the rail structures between the stations. We’ve started construction, and expect to complete work in November 2018.

We are rebuilding nearly five miles of the Rockaway Beach boardwalk, which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Our initial contract was worth $202 million. We expect to reach substantial completion in the spring of 2017.
