USA Building reorganizes to drive 2020 Business Plan

To successfully implement the 2020 Business Plan, which we will unveil this fall, USA Building is adjusting its senior management structure and leaders. This includes streamlining the co-chief operating officer roles from six to five; increasing executive focus on preconstruction and operationally-focused training; and appointing new general managers for North Carolina/Virginia and Georgia/South Carolina to continue our Southeast growth.

Here are the details from USB CEO Bill Flemming:

• Steve Stouthamer, general manager for the Carolinas and Virginia, will be promoted to executive vice president of preconstruction and planning. Stouthamer will join USB’s Senior Leadership Team, and will report directly to Flemming.

• Ken Sigel, corporate senior vice president, will move into a new role to focus on supporting and improving operational excellence through more operationally focused training and development programs centered on USB’s core business.

• Joey Hatch will move to a more focused position as the general manager for the Nashville region, which includes Cincinnati and the greater Kentucky market, and will step down from his current co-COO role.

• Co-COO Paul Hewins will assume added operational oversight responsibilities as co-COO for Ohio and Tennessee.

• Co-COO Dave Schmidt will take on additional operational oversight as co-COO for Texas.

Stouthamer’s responsibilities in the Southeast will be split among two individuals:

• Senior Vice President/Account Manager for Virginia Greg Peele will be promoted to general manager for North Carolina and Virginia, and will be relocating to Raleigh, N.C. He brings more than 28 years of construction experience, having spent 15 with Skanska in leadership roles. “Greg was the top choice based on his leadership qualities and the success he’s had developing the Skanska brand in Virginia, and I also feel confident that he can continue to expand our market presence in North Carolina as well,” Flemming said.

• Senior Vice President/Account Manager for Texas Scott Cannon will be promoted to general manager for Georgia and South Carolina, and will be relocating to Atlanta. He brings more than 19 years of construction experience with Skanska in various leadership roles, starting in Georgia. “Originally from Georgia, Scott was the ideal candidate for this new role given his area market knowledge and diverse market background,” Flemming said.

Over next 60-90 days, Cannon will transition into his new role, while the other operational shifts will occur January 1, 2016 to kick-off the 2020 Plan.
