Topping out for Boeing in South Carolina

Our team recently topped out the new Decorative Paint Facility for Boeing in North Charleston, S.C. This design-build project extends our relationship with a major client that we have served in the Seattle area for many years.

The South Carolina facility will paint Dreamliners that Boeing is assembling in a separate facility nearby. The 396,000-square-foot paint facility stands nine stories tall and almost two football fields wide. It incorporates approximately 3,800 tons of steel.

This project “supports our lean manufacturing and production optimization initiatives, and makes our delivery process even more efficient,” said Willy Geary, Boeing Vice President, Site Operations 787 Program South Carolina.

The project is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.
