To honor our retiring CEO Mike McNally for his longtime commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion, Skanska USA’s National Diversity and Inclusion Council has renamed the annual diversity award the Mike McNally Inclusive Leadership Award. The first McNally award will be presented at the Skanska USA Management Meeting in March.

Open just three-and-a-half years, our Cincinnati office is doing much to bring the Skanska name to its region. Its latest accomplishment: winning the Greater Dayton Workplace Diversity Award. Also last week, our Florida region bestowed its first-ever diversity and inclusion awards on Preconstruction Director Bob Nidzgorski and Project Manager Nicole Heran.

The Skanska Women’s Network, launched during last year’s Diversity & Inclusion Week with a New York metro chapter, reaches its first birthday a much expanded and stronger group, with chapters now in four regions. Many employees of both genders have benefitted from the network’s offerings.

Our Genentech team wins client diversity award

Diversity is important to Skanska, but more than just a nice thing to do, having a diverse and inclusive workforce and using trade contractors that reflect this approach is what we need to do to meet client goals. Recently, our team working on the Genentech campus in South San Francisco won the Outstanding Facilities Supplier of the Year for Diversity Award from the global procurement department of pharmaceutical maker Roche, Genentech’s parent company.
