In ENR’s annual Top 250 Global Contractors list, Skanska moved up one position to the 14th slot, based on the $17.7 billion of worldwide construction revenue we reported to the magazine.

Skanska moves up top green contractors list

Skanska USA ranks sixth on ENR’s list of the Top 100 Green Buildings Contractors, up two slots from last year. Our current ranking is based on $1.8 billion of 2014 revenue from projects either registered with or certified by a third-party standard-setting organization, such as the U.S. Green Building Council.

In ENR magazine’s Top 250 Global Contractors ranking, Skanska advanced one position to the 15th slot, based on the $18.5 billion of worldwide construction revenue we reported to ENR. Johan Karlstrom, chairman and CEO of the Skanska group, is quoted that looking at the international scene overall, “we have a very positive view of the markets.”

In our debut year on Building Design + Construction magazine’s list of top BIM construction firms, we landed in the number two spot, with $3.3 billion in revenue from projects using BIM in some form in 2013. (Only USA Building projects are included in the ranking.)

Healthcare Design magazine ranked us second in their list of healthcare construction firms, based on 2013 gross healthcare billings of $1.1 billion. Additionally, we’re near the top of several categories in Building Design + Construction magazine’s recent rankings, including being the third-largest general contractor (same as in 2013) and the third largest in healthcare (up from fourth).

Skanska again secured the number-two spot on ENR New York’s ranking of that region’s top contractors. An accompanying article includes a photo of our joint venture project to raise the deck of the Bayonne Bridge between Staten Island, N.Y., and Bayonne, N.J.

Advancing in local top general contractor lists

Many local business journals across the country have published their listings of the largest general contractors, and Skanska advanced or maintained top rankings in some key cities. Two great examples: In Seattle, Skanska took the top spot with $355 million in local revenue last year, moving up from the number two spot. Also, we retained the number one position in Tampa, with $157 million of area revenue.

In ENR’s just-published list of the nation’s Top 100 Project Delivery Firms, Skanska moved up the revenue rankings for both design-build and construction management-at-risk delivery. Those markets are growing as more owners – in both building and infrastructure sectors – are seeing greater value in these more streamlined and team-oriented approaches, according to the magazine.

According to ENR magazine’s just-released Top 400 Contractors list, while Skanska maintained its status as the fourth-largest contractor based on U.S. revenue, we now rank second in general building (up from third in 2013) and we are the third-largest heavy civil contractor (up from fifth in 2013).

PCI Skanska climbs 70 spots in ENR’s top designers ranking

PCI Skanska, Skanska USA’s in-house engineering group, ranks number 327 on ENR magazine’s latest list of the Top 500 Design Firms, based on its 2013 revenue of $33.5 million. That is up from number 397 in last year’s ranking, thanks to a 30 percent rise in revenue. PCI President Jeff Deig is hoping One Skanska collaboration will help boost that figure even higher.
