We’ve signed a $255 million contract to build the new CPV Valley Energy Center in Wawayanda, N.Y. Along with that, we secured an $87 million amendment to our contract to build Boeing’s Commercial Airplane Decorative Paint Facility in Charleston, S.C.; a $61 million contract to expand the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y.; and a $60 million supplemental contract for our Tampa International Airport renovation and expansion project in Florida.

USA Building reorganizes to drive 2020 Business Plan

To successfully implement the 2020 Business Plan, which we will unveil this fall, USA Building is adjusting its senior management structure and leaders. This includes streamlining the co-chief operating officer roles from six to five; increasing executive focus on preconstruction and operationally focused training; and appointing new general managers for North Carolina/Virginia and Georgia/South Carolina to continue our Southeast growth.

USA Building has promoted Nick Culver to Metro New York preconstruction director. A 14-year Skanska employee, he has been the preconstruction lead or the lead architectural estimator on more than $1 billion of awarded projects over the last three-and-a-half years.

USA Building reorganizes structure of Centers of Excellence

To support growth in core markets, USA Building has shifted oversight of its six Centers of Excellence from co-chief operating officers to Larry Casey, who is now EVP, chief strategy and markets officer. Additionally, SVP Andrew Quirk, national director of the Healthcare COE, has taken on the added responsibility of director of COE Markets Strategy, overseeing a team that will provide research, communications, training and marketing support to all COE leaders.

Biotech giant Genentech names Skanska Supplier of the Year for Portland-area site

Biotechnology company Genentech has named Skanska its 2014 Outstanding Supplier of the Year – across all categories – at its Hillsboro Technical Operations site near Portland, Ore., where the company mixes, packages and distributes medicines. We were selected for our team’s outstanding performance in delivering value to this site; being aligned to the site’s goals and strategies; and being committed to a collaborative process.

$137 million in New York City contracts

$137 million in New York City contracts

Skanska has signed an $80 million contract with New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority to renew three subway stations in Brooklyn. Also, we booked an additional order worth $57 million from the New York City Economic Development Corporation for our ongoing project that’s rebuilding the Rockaway Beach boardwalk in Queens.
